From August 8 to 11, Elena Zueva, Vice-Rector for International Affairs of Derzhavin University, visited the Samarkand region of Uzbekistan.
– The purpose of the visit is to deepen cooperation with existing partner universities and search for new organizations to form a single educational space, – comments Elena Zueva. – Since 2024, after the visit of Rector Pavel Moiseev to Uzbekistan, our university has been actively increasing cooperation with universities in the Samarkand region. We currently have six partner organizations here.
On August 8, a graduation ceremony was held for graduates of joint educational programs of the Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service and Derzhavin University. Almost 40 people became holders of two diplomas in tourism and accounting.
Negotiations were held with the leadership of the Uzbek university on the implementation of new projects and programs: academic mobility, inclusion of additional areas for joint educational programs, holding a summer school on tourism.
On August 9, negotiations were held with the international recruiting agency Osush Nokady on the issue of recruiting students from Turkmenistan at the partner university Zarmed. A draft agreement on the export of educational services of Derzhavin University in Turkmenistan was developed.
Besides, a meeting was held with the leadership of the leading private university of Uzbekistan "Kimyo". The parties expressed interest in educational and scientific cooperation in economics, design and medicine.
On August 11, the grand opening of the summer school for medical students, organized by the Samarkand State Medical University, took place. More than 50 students from Russia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Kazakhstan and other countries took part in it. Among the participants are students of the Institute of Medicine and Health Preservation of Derzhavin University Maria Barybina and Sofya Tupikina.
On the same day, the Samarkand State Pedagogical Institute held a ceremony to award certificates of advanced training in the program "Pedagogical Mastery and Pedagogical Technologies" for 23 Uzbek teachers of the partner university who recently completed a retraining program at Derzhavin University.
The vice-rectors of Derzhavin University and Samarkand State Pedagogical Institute discussed a draft roadmap between the two universities for cooperation in advanced training for teachers, academic mobility programs and joint master's programs.
