Internationalization of medical education and promotion of the mission as a university of "public diplomacy" - these were the goals of the Derzhavin University delegation during their visit to Uzbekistan from September 4 to September 7. The delegation consisted of Elena Zueva, Vice-Rector for International Affairs, Nikita Voronin, Acting Director of the Institute of Medicine and Health Preservation and Elena Sedykh, Head of the Personnel Development Department.
Since the April visit of the TSU delegation headed by Rector Pavel Moiseev, Derzhavin University has expanded its cooperation with the Samarkand State Medical University, the oldest medical university in Uzbekistan and one of the leading centers for training future doctors not only in the country, but also in Central Asia. Nikita Voronin, as a guest lecturer, conducted a series of practical classes on the discipline "Faculty Therapy" for students of Samarkand State Medical University.
Internationalization of education is an important area for the development of partnership: a joint scientific and practical conference and a visit of TSU lecturers specializing in the field of Ophthalmology to Samarkand in November 2024 have already been planned.
Derzhavin University opened joint educational programs in the fields of "Finance and Credit" and "General Medicine" with the private University "Zarmed". In addition, on September 7, the Russian Language Center began operating in Samarkand. TSU will provide it with methodological support, as well as conduct Russian language courses online and offline. Rector Pavel Moiseev donated to the center a print run of textbooks on learning Russian as a foreign language "About Russia in Russian", the authors of which are TSU philologists. Derzhavin University considers promoting the Russian language as the language of education and science to be one of the priorities within the framework of the mission of the "university of public diplomacy".
– It is the internationalization of the educational process through the implementation of network programs that works to improve the quality of education and allows us to train specialists who are in demand both in Russia and in Uzbekistan, – says Elena Zueva, Vice-Rector for International Affairs at Derzhavin University. – This is one of the areas of the comprehensive strategic partnership of our countries, and Derzhavin University makes its contribution to it.
