A delegation from Derzhavin University, including Vice-Rector for International Affairs Elena Zueva and Dean of the International Faculty Elena Davydova, visited the University of Constantine III Salah Boubnider at the invitation of an Algerian partner university. The purpose of the official visit was to develop a strategic multi-faceted partnership in education, research, and the promotion of the Russian language in Algeria.
Collaboration between the two universities began several years ago through publication activities in mathematics. Today, it is gaining momentum. In October, Wassim Mercella, a lecturer at the Algerian university, paid a guest visit to Tambov.
The University of Constantine III Salah Boubnider is one of the largest in Africa in terms of infrastructure. During the visit, the participants visited institutes and faculties of architecture and urban planning, media and journalism, the polytechnic institute, a research center, libraries, dormitories, and other institutions. Official meetings were held with the vice-rectors for international, academic, and research activities. Representatives of Derzhavin University gave lectures on the use of gaming technologies in the study of Russian as a foreign language, as well as on the experience of international students' social adaptation.
Derzhavin University paid special attention to the study of Russian language and culture at the partner university. The university donated the textbook "About Russia in Russian" and a traditional Russian samovar for tea ceremonies to the Russian language center. In 2026, Derzhavin University plans to not only provide educational and methodological support to Russian as a foreign language teachers, but also directly develop a Russian language and culture center under the auspices of TSU at the Constantine III Salah Bubnider University. In the scientific field, student research teams will explore aspects such as joint research between scientists in nanotechnology and joint biotechnology research
In 2026, they plan to develop a joint roadmap for interuniversity cooperation, and a visit to Derzhavin University by an Algerian delegation.
