Derzhavin Tambov State University is expanding its partnership with the National University of Asunción (Republic of Paraguay). Professor Ada Concepción Vera Rojas, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the National University of Asunción, has arrived at Derzhavin University for an official visit. The parties discussed collaboration in the scientific, educational, and sociocultural spheres and signed a cooperation agreement.
"I am confident that the dialogue with the National University of Asunción will lay the foundation for long-term joint projects," says Rector Pavel Moiseev. "Developing comprehensive cooperation with Latin American countries is one of the priority areas for Derzhavin University's international activities in the near future. In February of this year, an agreement on technological and scientific cooperation and exchange was signed with the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro—Brazil's largest public university. In March, we signed agreements with the National University of Altiplano de Puno in Peru. In June, with the support of the non-profit organization 'Creative Diplomacy' and the Presidential Grants Foundation, Derzhavin University hosted the 'Let's Talk About Russia' summer school for young leaders from Latin American countries."
Professor Ada Concepción Vera Rojas will deliver lectures to Derzhavin University students about Paraguay, covering its history and the challenges facing the social sciences. The visit program also includes a lecture-tour at the G.V. Chicherin House-Museum, held as part of the "Public Diplomacy" professional development course.
