Derzhavin University held an Open Day, "Educational Journey." The event brought together over 400 applicants and their parents from seven regions: Tambov, Moscow, Ryazan, Penza, Voronezh, Lipetsk, and Saratov. They have learned about the university, its capabilities, and its prospects.
The program included meetings with university and department leadership, interactive workshops and intensive courses, exhibitions, and consultations with the Admissions Committee.
"The Open Day is more than just an introduction to the university; it's the first important step toward making a smart choice of a future profession and launching a bright professional future," noted Yana Radyukova, Vice Rector for Education, Youth Policy, and Educational Work at Derzhavin University. We strive to create an environment where every applicant and parent can receive comprehensive information, ask all questions, and feel part of our large university family. We are ready to support everyone in choosing their future major and provide a high-quality education that will form a solid foundation for a successful career.
At the Open Day, the heads of the university's departments presented information about each major, answered questions from applicants and their parents, and helped them navigate the training options. An open dialogue was also held with the leadership of Derzhavin University, where the university's prospects, development strategies, and the specifics of the 2026 admissions campaign were discussed.
At the exhibition stand, guests learned about the university's scientific and educational achievements and innovative developments by faculty and students.
Applicants and parents were briefed on the admissions requirements for higher, secondary vocational, and secondary general education programs. "In 2026, when applying to higher education programs, it's important to remember that applications will only be available to five universities and no more than five majors. Graduates of secondary vocational educational institutions (SVIs) will only be able to enroll in their chosen program. In other cases, they will have to take the Unified State Exam, like school graduates. Special attention in 2026 will be given to the targeted training mechanism. Applicants interested in this format will be required to sign a contract with the client company. Employer offers will be published until June 10 on the "Work in Russia" portal. The number of places for fee-paying admission is limited, and for some majors, contractual places are determined directly by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. The admissions process will be simplified for applicants—for final confirmation, they will only need to sign a consent form for enrollment, without the requirement to present an original certificate," noted Marina Molneva, Executive Secretary of the Admissions Committee at Derzhavin University. Interactive workshops and educational intensives were held for schoolchildren. They were able to explore various fields to determine their future specialty.
"I dream of becoming a doctor to help people and save lives, like my mother. To that end, I'm currently studying chemistry and biology in depth," says Anna P., a ninth-grade student at Secondary School No. 9. "The Open Day at Derzhavin only reinforced my decision. I really enjoyed the workshops at the Institute of Medicine and Health, especially when they taught how to apply a bandage to an open wound using realistic mannequins."
The Open Day concluded with a prize drawing.
