"Derzhavin Mile" 2025 cross-country race took place in "The Park of friendship". The general partner was the Tambov Elektropribor Factory. Before the event, Pavel Moiseev, Rector of Derzhavin University, addressed the participants and guests with a welcoming speech.
"For the university, "Derzhavin Mile" is more than just a competition; it is a part of our corporate policy and educational work," said Pavel Moiseev."Originally, the event was intended to introduce our students, staff, and residents to a healthy lifestyle. In the course of developing this trend, we began to engage schoolchildren, and then their families too. And now "Derzhavin Mile" has become a family-sports event, something we are very proud of!" Students, educators, staff, and graduates of Derzhavin Lyceum, as well as employees of the Elektropribor factory in Tambov, along with families and schoolchildren of the region, completed a "1,918-meter" run in honour of the founding year of Derzhavin University. Around 1,000 runners had been registered.
The top school students were Nikita Subbotin, from the Ecotech School in Kotovsk, and Elizaveta Sevostyanova, from Tambov Lyceum No. 21. Second place went to Alexander Shchegrov, from Tambov Secondary School No. 17, and Ksenia Botova, from the Ecotech School in Kotovsk. Third place went to Ilya Chetyrin, from Tambov Lyceum No. 29, and Milana Klimova, from Derzhavin Lyceum.
"I love these kinds of sporting events and have been participating in "Derzhavin Mile" for two years now." "This time was easier than last year! I'm now in the eleventh grade, and I hope that participating in this race will help me get into Derzhavin University, at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports," says Nikita Subbotin, a student at the Ecotech School in Kotovsk.
Among the students, Saveliy Baranov, from the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports, came in first; Maxim Yurov, from the Engineering and Technical Institute, finished second; and Nikita Tryakin, from the Institute of Economics, Information Technology, and Creative Industries, finished third. Among the female students, Maria Zakharova, from the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports, finished first; Nadezhda Karaeva, from the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports, came in second; and Yana Sorochuk, from the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports, came in third.
"The tactic was simple: keep up with the competitors, and then pull ahead at the end and win," shares Saveliy Baranov, a student of the Institute of Pedagogy "I practise every day and was prepared for this race, so everything went smoothly and easily."
Among the staff and alumni of the university, the best result among women was achieved by Tatyana Nechaeva, from the Rasskazovo Youth Sports School. Marina Ilyukhina, from the Institute of Economics, Information Technology, and Creative Industries, came in second. Elena Punina, a Derzhavin University alumna, came in third. Among the men, Nikita Avdeev, a Derzhavin University alumna, came in first; Ibrahim Diabaté, from the Institute of Engineering and Technology, came in second; and Alexey Gusev, from the Derzhavin University Security Department, came in third.
The rankings among the 100 participants for the employees of the general partner, the Elektropribor factory in Tambov, were as follows. Among the women, Anastasia Leonenko came in first, Elena Malyshkina came in second, and Violetta Nazarova came in third. Roman Cherkasov took first place among men, Evgeny Ismen took second place, and Nikita Chernov finished third.
Families from the Tambov Region took to the track – about 30 families of Derzhavin University employees and 10 student families. The Manaenkov family took first place, followed by the Litvinov family. Members of the Dubensky family came in third.
"More than ten years ago, I graduated from TSU and immediately came to work here. First, I participated in "Derzhavin Mile" as an alumna and employee, but for the last two years, I ran the race with my husband and eldest son,"says Nadezhda Manaenkova. "When parents experience the joy of movement, a true love for running and sport is born in children’s hearts. By our example, we encourage future generations to live a healthy lifestyle and achieve sports victories."
One hundred and fifty professional athletes took to the starting line for the "9-km" and "21.1-km" races. Participants came from seven Russian regions: the Tambov, Lipetsk, Voronezh, Chelyabinsk, and Tula regions, as well as the city of St. Petersburg and the Sakha Republic (Yakutia).
Absolute champions of the 9 km race were Alexey Anisimov and Polina Tetushkina. Pavel Rubchenko and Alexandra Afanasova achieved the best result in the 21.1 km race.
A concert program, kettlebell lifting competitions, and a prize drawing were available for all guests of the sporting event. More than 3,500 people took part in "Derzhavin Mile" 2025.
