Tambov State University named after G.R. Derzhavin hosted an Open Day, "Derzhavin Compass: Choose Your Route." This large-scale event brought together applicants and their parents from the Tambov, Lipetsk, Ryazan, and Voronezh regions, as well as the Donetsk People's Republic. Over 600 people attended.
Guests learned about the university, its educational opportunities, and its prospects. The program included meetings with the university's leadership, the Military Training Center, and its departments, interactive workshops, exhibitions, career guidance testing, and consultations with the Admissions Committee.
At the Open Day, applicants were provided with information about each program, answered relevant questions, and received assistance navigating their majors. At the exhibition stand, guests learned about the university's scientific and educational achievements, as well as innovative developments by faculty and students.
Applicants and their parents were briefed on the admissions rules for secondary general, secondary vocational, and higher education programs.
"This year, applicants for higher education programs will be able to apply to no more than five universities and five programs. College graduates will be able to enroll in non-core programs only upon passing the Unified State Exam. Regarding targeted training, an agreement with the client company is mandatory, and employer offers will be posted on the "Work in Russia" portal by June 10. The number of places for fee-paying admission is limited, and for some programs, state-funded places are determined directly by the Russian Ministry of Education and Science. This year, the admissions process will be simplified for applicants: an electronic consent form will be sufficient to confirm a place; the original certificate will not be required," explained Marina Molneva, Executive Secretary of the Admissions Committee at Derzhavin University.
Educational intensives were also held for schoolchildren at the Open Day. The students explored various fields to finally decide on their future specialty.
"I want to become a lawyer to protect people's rights, help them in difficult life situations, and seek justice," says Dmitry K., a student at Secondary School No. 33. "Derzhavin University is renowned for its strong law school and its practicing professors, which is why I chose this university. At the Open Day, I learned about the programs and areas of study, as well as the number of state-funded places. I'm confident that I'll gain the knowledge here that will allow me to build a successful career in law. I want to return here as a student in the new academic year. I wish all the students taking the Unified State Exam success!"
The Open Day, "Derzhavin Compass: Choose Your Route," concluded with a giveaway.
