A meeting with a delegation from the National University of the Altiplano of Puno (Republic of Peru) headed by Rector Paulino Machaca Ari was held at Derzhavin University.
The visit is part of Derzhavin University's strategy for developing international cooperation with Latin American universities and the International University Project. The goal is to discuss prospects for academic collaboration and identify areas and forms of interaction in education, research, and culture.

- Developing comprehensive cooperation with Latin American countries is one of the University's key international activities for the near future. Our educational institution is an internationally oriented university and a 'University of Public Diplomacy - comments Rector Pavel Moiseev. - The work of the delegation from the National University of the Altiplano of Puno is taking place within the framework of our specially developed International University Program. Our Peruvian colleagues were the first to participate in the Public Diplomacy advanced training course, designed for heads of higher education institutions from abroad. I would also like to point out that the value of our program lies in the fact that Derzhavin University works directly with foreign universities throughout its implementation. Another important event in the university's Latin American focus will take place in June. With the support of the non-profit organization Creative Diplomacy and the Presidential Grants Foundation, the 'Let's Talk About Russia' Summer School for young leaders from Latin America will be held at Derzhavin University. I would also like to note that in early February, an Agreement for Technological and Scientific Cooperation and Exchange was signed with the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil's largest public university. The purpose of the agreement is to implement joint scientific and educational projects. The heads of academic departments at Derzhavin University and the National University of the Altiplano of Puno presented their structures and discussed specific proposals for collaboration at a roundtable discussion titled "Universities of Russia and Peru as Drivers of International Cooperation."
According to the program, the visit of Peruvian colleagues include a tour of Derzhavin University's infrastructure, including laboratories and research centers, academic buildings and clusters, and sports and leisure facilities. A panel session titled "Russia and Peru in a Multipolar World" will be held with the participation of the two universities' leadership and international students. The visit will conclude with the presentation of certificates and diplomas of professional development.
