Over three hundred 9th–11th-grade students and their parents from the Voronezh, Lipetsk, Ryazan, Moscow, and Tambov regions gathered at Derzhavin University for a large-scale career guidance event.
Prospective students were treated to an extensive program, including educational intensives, master classes, exhibitions, and prize giveaways.
- This is the last Open Doors Day of the academic year. Starting June 20, university and college admissions will begin. Today, attendees have the unique opportunity to directly address their questions to the heads of academic departments, explore Derzhavin’s educational and scientific ecosystem, familiarize themselves with its infrastructure, and immerse themselves in the atmosphere of student life, said Yana Radukova, Vice-Rector for Education, Youth Policy, and Student Affairs, in her welcoming address.
Marina Molneva, Secretary of the Derzhavin University Admissions Committee, outlined key aspects of the upcoming admissions campaign: available degree programs, admission requirements and deadlines, the university’s internal entrance exams, consideration of applicants’ individual achievements, targeted admission quotas, and more.
- Applicants may take advantage of targeted training agreements, which provide students with additional support measures and, subsequently, guaranteed employment. To do so, they must sign a contract with an employer-partner. Please note that companies will post their offers on the ‘Work in Russia’ platform by June 10. The University, in turn, will select applicants with the highest scores within the targeted quota and issue enrollment orders, emphasized Marina Molneva. - Upon graduation, students admitted under targeted agreements are required to work for their designated employer for three to five years.
Many questions came from 9th-grade graduates considering secondary vocational education (SVE). Next year, admission rules will change: if graduates later wish to switch fields after completing college, they will need to take the Unified State Exam (USE).
- This is my third time attending an Open Doors Day at Derzhavin University. I plan to apply for the ‘Design and Visual Arts’ program. Creativity runs in our family – my grandfather is a skilled artist, and my mother teaches fine arts and technology. This year, I’m graduating from Tambov Children’s Art School No. 1, said Agata, a student at School No. 22 in the regional center. "Derzhavin University has a very welcoming atmosphere. I’ve already met students here, and together we’ve been exploring animation and honing my drawing skills. I’m extremely eager to enroll at Derzhavin University.

- I am planning to build a career as a translator in English and other languages. I believe this field is in high demand. Right now, I’m intensively preparing for the USE, with extra focus on grammar and listening comprehension, shared Matvey, an 11th-grade student at School No. 3 in Kotovsk. - What draws me to Derzhavin University is the opportunity to pursue two degree programs simultaneously. I’m confident the University will provide me with the knowledge and a solid professional foundation.
