In the 2025/2026 academic year, Derzhavin University is a co-organizer of the All-Russian Student Olympiad "I Am a Professional" in the following areas: Geography, History and Culture of Russia, Classroom Teacher, Pedagogical Education (Preschool), Pedagogical Education (Basic), Advertising and Public Relations, Sociology, Special Education (Defectology), Tourism, Economics, Jurisprudence, and Linguistics and Literary Criticism.
In the ninth season of the Olympiad, participants (students pursuing undergraduate, specialist, and master's degree programs, as well as those pursuing basic and specialized higher education) will have the opportunity to test their skills in 70 areas, from aircraft engineering to law. The list of areas is updated annually, taking into account student feedback and changes in the labour market.
"I am a Professional" is a large-scale platform for testing the knowledge and applied skills of students from Russian universities, as well as a unique career support system. Since 2025, the Olympiad has been implemented as part of the federal project "Russia – Land of Opportunity" of the national project "Youth and Children" with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.
Olympiad graduates can qualify for advantages when applying to leading Russian universities and complete an internship at a major Russian company. The Olympiad's top participants—bronze, silver, and gold medallists—will also receive cash prizes ranging from 100,000 to 300,000 rubles.
Participants who advance to the final stage of the competition will learn even more about the project's capabilities. The ninth season will feature industrial and academic tourism activities, including excursions to museums and research laboratories, as well as visits to partner organizations. This approach will allow students from across the country to develop additional competencies and shape their future professional trajectories.
Students from Tambov State University named after G.R. Derzhavin annually receive diplomas from the Olympiad. Last academic year, Derzhavin students were among the gold medalists and prize winners.
