A meeting of the Coordination Council of the CIS Network University was held at the Peoples' Friendship University. During the meeting rector of Derzhavin University, Pavel Moiseev, presented the university as a candidate for membership in the CIS Network University in the humanities. Derzhavin University previously fulfilled all the necessary selection criteria and was unanimously accepted into the Network University.
“The CIS Network University is an equal cooperation of higher educational institutions of the Commonwealth in the field of higher education,” comments Pavel Moiseev. – “It is carried out in the format of the Consortium of Educational Organizations. It includes 48 leading universities from 9 CIS member states. More than 1,400 students are being trained in 35 areas. The level and importance of the organization is very high. Evidence of this is participation in the work of the Coordination Council of Leaders of the CIS Executive Committee, the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the First Department of the CIS Countries of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, and the Department of Education and Science of Rossotrudnichestvo. ”
Participation in the CIS Network University will give Derzhavin University the opportunity to increase the degree of internationalization, implement joint master's programs in the humanities and socio-economic areas of training, increase the academic mobility of teachers and students, and attract scientific and pedagogical workers from the Consortium universities for joint scientific research. Places in the master's program will be provided at the expense of quotas from the Governments of the CIS countries.
