Derzhavin University is a participant of a unique Russian project in the field of public diplomacy - Hablemos con Rusia (Let's talk about Russia). The presentation of the university took place as part of the implementation of an online program from the Creative Diplomacy Non-Profit Organization. The goal of the project is to introduce young people from Latin America to modern Russia: its culture, regional life, and foreign policy. The program lasts for two days and is aimed at a productive dialogue between representatives of the Russian expert community and leaders of the new generation of Latin Americans. The program is supported by the Latin American Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry. Only two Russian universities were chosen to participate in the project - Derzhavin Tambov State University and Tomsk State University. The program participants are more than 50 public youth leaders and international workers from 11 Latin American countries.
“Latin American young experts were interested in how student government is structured in Russia, what steps universities are taking to implement their sustainable development goals and to promote the Russian language abroad,” noted Elena Zueva, “The participants expressed a desire to visit our university as part of an internship, were interested in studying at Derzhavin University, and offered assistance in establishing connections with other universities in Latin America.”
Derzhavin University is implementing the mission of the University of Public Diplomacy in the direction of Latin America, starting a series of Spanish-language publications about the university for this very promising part of the world.
