Derzhavin University is a participant of the international forum “The Nuremberg Trials and Modern International Law” (Minsk, Republic of Belarus). During the forum, a competition of student teams was held in the format of a play court session of the International Criminal Court. The objectives of the competition are the interpretation and application of the rules of public international law, international criminal law and international humanitarian law in accordance with the mock trial; formation and presentation of the legal position in written positions and during oral hearings in Russian and English, etc. The competition included two stages. In the first stage, participants prepared a memorandum of the parties to the dispute. In the second, students spoke before the judges and represented the interests of the parties. According to the results of the written memorandum competition, Derzhavin University took third place among 16 teams from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan.
