The exhibition "For the Glory of the Motherland, in the Name of Victory" opened in Minsk in the Art Gallery of the Belorussian State University of Culture and Arts (BSUCA). It was prepared by TSU together with BSUCA, with the participation of BSU based on materials from the collections of the Tambov Regional Museum of Local History, State Archives of the Tambov Region and the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus. The delegation of Derzhavin University headed by its rector Pavel Moiseev took part in the opening ceremony of the exhibition.
The exhibition presents archival materials about the military and working days of those who defended the Motherland during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, about the contribution of the multinational people of the USSR to the common Victory over fascism.
– Like any person born in the USSR and who lived his life in Russia, I was brought up on the fact that Victory Day is the main event of our common history, and not just a page on the calendar, – comments Pavel Moiseev. – Today we have opened the exhibition “For the Glory of the Motherland, in the Name of Victory”. We opened it in Minsk. The choice of location is not accidental. Belarus took the first and most terrible blow of the enemy. The German occupation of Belarus lasted from 1941 to 1944. My great-grandfather on my father’s side, Yegor Ilyich Moiseev, liberated Belarus in 1944 as part of the 2nd Belorussian Front. Reached Berlin, signed the Reichstag building. We are currently conducting archival research at the University. We have established that at least 15 professors and employees of the University fought in Belarus at different stages of the war. What is the most important thing about this exhibition? It is the fact that it is truthful. It is based on facts, on archives. And this is its historical power.
