Derzhavin University continues to renovate the dormitory on the campus on Komsomolskaya Square, consisting of a nine- and five-story buildings with 1,050 beds. The work is being carried out in three stages, the first of which has already been successfully completed.
First of all, specialists repaired the roof, which protects the building from precipitation and extends its service life. The second stage is in full swing - renovating the facade. After completing this work, builders will begin the third stage - installing a blind area that will protect the foundation from moisture and increase the safety of the adjacent territory.
- Such repair work is not just caring for the appearance of the buildings. This is an investment in the quality of life of students and the development of the entire University, - says Rector Pavel Moiseev. – Modern, safe and comfortable housing helps students focus on their studies and research projects, and also increases the attractiveness of the University for applicants.
For many students, the dormitory becomes not only a place to live, but also a space for communication, exchange of experience, creative and scientific initiatives. The renovated building will create even more favorable conditions for living, studying and self-realization.
– In 2021, we carried out a selective overhaul of the building, that is, we renovated it from the inside. All engineering systems were replaced, sanitary blocks, living rooms, and corridors were overhauled, - notes Vladimir Sorochkin, Director of the Property Management Department of Derzhavin University. – Exterior finish work became a logical conclusion to the entire complex of improving the thermal characteristics of the building.
