On January 25, at the stadium in Druzhba Park, more than 100 TSU students, employees, future applicants and running enthusiasts of the region took part in the All-Russian physical education and sports event "Creditable Student Race ", dedicated to the main holiday of Russian students - Student's Day.
The race is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation together with the Association "Student Athletics League" and with the support of the Autonomous Non-Commercial Organization for the Development of Sports "Parkrun".
As part of the race, Derzhavinsky students covered a distance of 5 km. "Creditable Student Race" is not about fierce competition at the start and finish, but about student running culture, accustoming to a healthy and productive pastime. Traditionally, not only students of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports took part in the race, but also all other educational departments.
– The guys and I always try to support sports events in which Derzhavin University takes part. It’s not only about having fun and spending time in a sporty way, but also about new acquaintances, impressions and a cool student atmosphere, – says Yana Sorochuk, a 4th-year student of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports at Derzhavin University, a participant in the race.
