At a meeting of the Council of the Eurasian Association of Universities at Lomonosov Moscow State University, Viktor Sadovnichy, President of the Russian Union of Rectors and the Eurasian Association of Universities, delivered a report on the Association's activities, areas of work, and achievements.
One of the pressing issues was the admission of new universities to the Eurasian Association of Universities. Tambov State University named after G.R. Derzhavin was among the applicants for membership in the Association. In this regard, Pavel Moiseev, Rector of Derzhavin University, and Elena Zueva, Vice-Rector for International Affairs, attended the Council meeting.
According to the Association's terms, a new candidate for membership must be supported at least by one of the universities within the Eurasian Association of Universities. TSU partners from Belarus and Uzbekistan, including Belarusian State University, Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, Euphrosyne of Polotsk State University of Polotsk, P.M. Masherov Vitebsk State University, Francisk Skaryna Gomel State University, and Sharof Rashidov Samarkand University, sent letters of support to the EUA President.
After reviewing Derzhavin University's application and recommendations from EUA member universities, the Council decided to admit Tambov State University named after G.R. Derzhavin to the Eurasian Association of Universities.
