A delegation from Derzhavin University took part in festive events on the campus of Nantong Institute of Technology, where the organisers held scientific conferences and cultural events to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the founding of the educational institution. This not only marked a significant date for the Chinese side but also strengthened the partnership between the educational institutions of the two countries.
During the talks, the parties emphasized their commitment to developing cooperation in various areas, particularly the organization of academic mobility for students and faculty. Currently, short-term internships have become a successful practice. However, the meeting participants expressed their intention to expand the scope of this cooperation by increasing the number of participants in exchange programs and by holding joint academic events, such as international student olympiads and scientific and practical seminars.
They also the possibility of expanding joint activities in the field of teaching Russian as a foreign language. Representatives of the Russian delegation learned about the experience of several local Chinese schools successfully implementing educational programs focused on Russian language learning. During the meetings, it was noted that students have a strong interest in studying Russian culture and literature, opening up additional opportunities for deepening Russian-Chinese humanitarian ties.
In addition to discussing educational issues, they also exchanged their views on the prospects for developing bilateral economic cooperation. Specifically, business meetings which were held with representatives of the local administration and business community of Jiangsu Province, were devoted to discussion of attracting investments, establishing joint ventures, and implementing projects in the agricultural sector, mechanical engineering, and information technology. The parties agreed on the need to establish closer contacts between Russian and Chinese companies to improve the effectiveness of their collaboration.
Intensive cooperation with various Chinese organizations is a priority for Derzhavin University's international activities in 2025. In November, the university was represented by Elena Zueva, Vice-Rector for International Affairs, at the Russian-Chinese Education Festival. A delegation from Derzhavin University will participate in a meeting of the Alliance of Chinese and Russian Universities for Language Education in Harbin. Moreover Derzhavin University is going to welcome students of Nantong Institute of Technology at a Winter School in January 2026.
