The series of memorable events in honor of the 280th anniversary of Gavriil Romanovich Derzhavin was followed up by the XVII International Scientific and Practical Conference “Derzhavin Readings” in Moscow. It was organized by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation and the All-Russian State University of Justice. The co-organizer of the events was Rossotrudnichestvo. The conference took place at 11 venues. Among them are the Ministry of Justice, the Investigative Committee, the Russian Federal Center for Forensic Science, the All-Russian State University of Justice, etc. They were attended by over a thousand participants from Russia, Belarus, CIS countries, China, Iran, Cuba, Brazil and France. Representatives of public authorities, business and the scientific community discussed the contribution of G.R. Derzhavin in the development of the state and culture, as well as current problems and challenges of modern society. The focus was on the 30th anniversary of the Constitution of the Russian Federation, innovations in legislation, priority directions for the development of the legal system, issues of law enforcement practice, institutions of the state and civil society. Director of the Research Center “State Legal Heritage of G.R. Derzhavin" of Derzhavin University Nina Tsintsadze spoke at the Ministry of Justice at the session "Creative heritage of G.R. Derzhavin." Her report was on the legislative initiatives of the first Minister of Justice of the Russian Empire.
