Derzhavin University professors visited Zarmed University in Samarkand (Republic of Uzbekistan) on the program of academic mobility. Svetlana Romantsova, Associate Professor of the Department of Biochemistry and Pharmacology and Julia Cherkasova, Associate Professor of the Department of Human Morphology gave lectures and practical classes on histology, cytology, embryology and biochemistry for 2nd year students majoring in Medicine.
- We were the first lecturers of Derzhavin University to go to Zarmed University to work under the cooperation agreement between our universities, - shared Svetlana Romantsova. - Despite the cultural differences, we quickly found a common language with both staff and students. Our practical classes, demonstration of medical experiments and experiments aroused great interest among students. We are sure that our cooperation will raise the prestige of the medical profession and increase the interest in Russia and education in Derzhavin University among international students.
The agreement on cooperation between Derzhavin University and Zarmed University was reached in the spring of 2024. In accordance with the memorandum of cooperation, it is planned to exchange students and professors, conduct joint scientific research and projects, develop and implement joint educational programs. The universities have already developed a joint educational program for two diplomas in General Medicine. The program is planned to be launched in 2025.
