Derzhavin University at the invitation of the RAKUS took part in a business trip to the Tunisian Republic. The main purpose of the trip is to develop and strengthen educational, scientific and socio-cultural ties between Russia and Tunisia, discuss issues of cooperation and attracting foreign students to Russian universities. Derzhavin University was presented by the Assistant Vice-Rector for Project Training and International Activities Tatiana Osadchaya.
The working program began with a visit to the Representative Office of the organization "RAKUS" in Tunisia. With the Director of the Representative Office Marina Bouattour, the Russian delegation discussed the possibilities of attracting and recruiting Tunisian applicants, as well as the specifics of working with foreign students and parents of the Maghreb countries.
Derzhavin University as part of the Russian delegation visited the leading universities of the Tunisian Republic, including the University of Monastir (Monastir) and the University of Kartazh (Tunis). Director of the Medical Faculty of Monastir University Sharfeddin Amri told the Russian delegation about the activities and specifics of the University, introduced the infrastructure and technical equipment of the faculty. The Vice-president of the Kartazh Manga University Bes bes introduced the guests to the history, infrastructure, strategic plans for the development of the University, presented the main directions of educational activities. Universities plan to develop international interuniversity relations with Derzhavin University.
– Derzhavin University has been successfully cooperating with Tunisian educational and scientific organizations for many years. Now we have cooperation agreements with leading Tunisian universities: Tunis El Manar University and Sfax University," says Yana Radyukova, Vice-Rector for Project Training and International Activities of Derzhavin University. – About 200 people from Tunisia study at Derzhavin University. We continue to receive and train students. Derzhavin University's participation in business meetings of this level contributes to the strengthening of our partnerships and the effective promotion of the university in the international educational sphere.
The organization "RAKUS" held business meetings with employees of the Russian House in Tunis – the Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo – and the Russian Embassy in the Tunisian Republic. Thus with the Director of Russian House in Tunis Yuri Zaitsev and the Deputy Director Arseniy Matyushenko the guests discussed the possibilities of developing cooperation with Derzhavin University and prospects for promoting Russian education and the Russian language in Tunisia. Following the meeting the participants agreed to include Derzhavin University in the plan of exhibition events of the Rossotrudnichestvo Representative Office in Tunisia for 2023. This implies the participation of the University in one of the largest educational exhibitions in Tunisia.
With the Adviser of the Russian Embassy in the Tunisian Republic Vladimir Khatuntsev, the guests discussed the possibilities of implementing joint projects to promote Russian higher education among Tunisian youth.
