The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation published National Graduate Employability Rankings for various specialties and fields of study on the "Work in Russia" portal. Derzhavin University has confirmed the high quality of its specialist training.
According to the research results, Derzhavin University demonstrated strong performance in rankings of universities with a large number of graduates in the humanities and social sciences:
Mass Media and Library Science (Master's/Residency – 17th place);
Fine and Applied Arts (Master's/Residency – 19th place);
Physical Education and Sports (Master's/Residency – 22nd place);
Philosophy, Ethics, and Religious Studies (Bachelor's/Specialist's – 17th place);
Theology (Bachelor's/Specialist's degree – 19th place);
Law (Bachelor's/Specialist's degree – 25th place).
Several criteria were taken into account when creating the rankings: the proportion of full-time graduates employed in the second year after graduation and the median salary of graduates at the end of their second year of work. The calculation methodology was based on data from Rosobrnadzor and information received from the Social Fund of Russia.
In 2026, the rankings became more detailed, with groups of specialties and fields of study identified within the fields of education. Universities were ranked by 52 broad groups of fields of study. In addition, university rankings were compiled by education level: separately for specialist/bachelor's degrees and for master's/residency programs.
The mission of Derzhavin University is to preserve and develop human capital and promote sustainable growth in the region's core economic sectors. "Therefore, developing highly qualified personnel, training them, and preparing them for the labor market is our priority," noted Pavel Moiseev, Rector of Tambov State University named after G.R. Derzhavin. "The high employment rate of our graduates is also a competitive advantage for the university. We traditionally have excellent results in the humanities and social sciences. For example, Derzhavin University traditionally ranks highly in the Jurisprudence rankings, as our graduates demonstrate their professionalism and competence through their achievements."
These university rankings were prepared at the request of Russian President Vladimir Putin. They are part of the national "Personnel" project and have been published since 2025. The analytical data will help applicants and their parents evaluate the demand for graduates from a particular university or college before admission, compared to graduates from other institutions studying in the same field. This data will also help them determine their preferences when choosing a higher education institution and better navigate the labor market when choosing a specialization.
