And so, 2025 is coming to an end. Many of us have already reflected on his personal, professional, and creative achievements. Those who haven't will still have time to do it in the last moments of this year.
I want to thank all Derzhavin residents—students, faculty, and staff—for everything we accomplished together this year, for your high level professionalism, and dedication to our alma mater, Derzhavin University.
Indeed, much has been accomplished. We have updated the university's infrastructure. And the students striving to develop economy and society of the 21st-century are doing so here in Tambov. I thank each and every one of our amazing volunteers, who have always been there when needed. I am very proud that 27 undergraduate and graduate students have received awards from the President and Government of Russia—one of the best results in the country. Your athletic and creative successes have been magnificent. But they—we all know for sure!—are only a stepping stone to new heights and pedestals. Your talents are evident in a wide variety of fields. I wish you even greater fulfillment in 2026!
Derzhavin’s scientists and faculty are its greatest asset. After all, a university is, above all, its people. I want to thank you, colleagues, for the daily work you do to increase knowledge and share it with young people. Thanks to you, in 2025, our students won, conquered, achieved, and became first. And, of course, we closely monitor the graduates' achievements, rejoice in them, and look forward to seeing you in 2026, wherever that may be!
Personally, what I'm most proud of this past year is that we built the rental building "Where It's Cozy." But this isn't the end —it's a future. This is a unique project that has the potential to change our future and university campuses across Russia. But, most importantly, it is also a home for young Derzhavin families and their children. I truly hope that our university will welcome as many families with children as possible!
According to the Eastern calendar, the coming year is the Year of the Red Fire Horse. This animal has always helped people overcome distances and barriers, move quickly, and expand the boundaries of the world around them. I wish for Derzhavin University to remain energetic and dynamic in 2026, and for the university's employees to discover new areas of their work and achieve maximum results! Make a wish for something important for yourself too!
