Kazan has been the global eSports capital of the world for a week. This large-scale event combines classical sports competitions with digital ones. More than two thousand athletes from all over the world demonstrate their skills in physical sports. They compete in 21 disciplines for a prize fund of ten million dollars. At the opening of the Games of the Future, President Vladimir Putin emphasized their uniqueness for modern world sports and expressed confidence that fidgital sports will become a favorite leisure activity for Russian citizens.
Derzhavin University is the center for the promotion of e-sports and fidgital sports in the Tambov region. There are first victories: at the end of 2021 the university team “DerzhaWin” became the winner of the international student e-sports tournament in Dota 2 “Battle for Science”. Despite the short period of work, several tournaments have already taken place in the fidgital format in hockey, football and volleyball.
The Tambov region and Derzhavin University at the “Games of the Future” are represented by the head of the e-sports club “Derzhava”, vice-president of the Fidgetal Federation of the Tambov region Pavel Gorbunov and the secretary of the Federation Anastasia Gorbunova.
