Sergey Gribanovsky, a research fellow at the Ecology and Biotechnology Research Center at Derzhavinsky University, won silver in the 14-kilometer trail race over rough terrain. The competition was held as part of the "Summer Together" family sports festival near the village of Tulinovka in the Tambov Municipal District.
"Trail running is a cross-country race that requires exceptional endurance," said Sergey Gribanovsky. "The route ran along a forest ravine with constant elevation changes. I had to navigate steep descents and ascents, sneak under tree branches, and maintain utmost concentration to stay on the trail markers on the winding sections. However, everything was as expected."
Despite the technical difficulties, the race was a success for the athlete. Having built a comfortable lead over his closest competitor, Sergey Gribanovsky was able to not only maintain his position but also enjoy the race.
The "Summer Together" festival brought together sports enthusiasts of all skill levels, from beginners to experienced athletes. Participants competed over distances of 1, 3, 8, and 14 kilometers. In addition to the races, the program included football and volleyball tournaments, yoga classes, workshops, and a game of lapta.
