Derzhavin University's team successfully competed in the Russian "What? Where? When?" Sports Championship. The university team included Danila Rodionov, Ilya Popov, Marina Kachanova, Ilya Khromushin, Leonid Romanov, and Bogdan Denisov. The tournament, organized by the "Knowledge. Game" society as part of the "Youth and Children" national project, brought together 300 participants—students and young professionals from 20 regions of the country—in the final round.
Over the course of 10 rounds, the players answered questions on the history, culture, and traditions of the peoples of Russia, and also demonstrated their knowledge of the biographies of prominent compatriots. Legendary intellectual club players Anatoly Wasserman, Maria Kiseleva, and host Boris Belozerov added a special atmosphere to the event. Following a tense competition with the country's most talented intellectuals, the university team entered the top ten student teams in Russia and placed in the top 50 overall. This result confirmed the high level of intellectual preparation of the Derzhavin University team, as well as the exceptional team spirit of the players.
"To reach the championship finals and be among the top ten student teams in Russia is an incredible honor. This result wasn't easy, but it was a unique opportunity for us to learn from the best and feel part of the country's vast intellectual community. We are grateful to the 'Knowledge. Game' society for organizing a tournament of such magnitude," said Danila Rodionov, captain of the Derzhavin University team.
