A delegation from the Qi Ming Culture (Nanjing, China) visited Derzhavin Tambov State University. At the University, the guests took part in a business session and met with the top University managers – Rector Pavel Moiseev, Vice-Rector for International Affairs Elena Zueva and other representatives of the rector’s corps.
The Chinese delegation included Director Fu Guanrong (Professor Qiming), Deputy Director Xia Xingchen, Deputy Director of the Russian-Chinese Center "Qiming Culture" Sergey Logvinenko.
The parties outlined a long-term cooperation program, which includes the implementation of joint educational, scientific and cultural projects, academic student exchange, training of Chinese students in Derzhavin University, as well as strengthening cultural ties between peoples.
- Currently, there is a great demand for studying Chinese in Russia. Fluency in foreign languages is a significant competitive advantage for specialists in the labor market. Therefore, Derzhavin University is expanding the opportunities for educational and cultural exchange with universities in China, - noted rector Pavel Moiseyev. - We are ready to accept young people from China to study at our university. In addition to high-quality education, Derzhavin University will also provide decent living conditions for students, postgraduates and visiting teachers.
In its turn, the foreign delegation presented the economic, investment, educational and cultural potential of the Yangtze Golden Triangle, which includes industrially developed agglomerations - Shanghai, Nanjing, Nantong and other territories. The guests from China noted the importance of strengthening bilateral relations, highly appreciated the scientific and educational level of Russian higher education and invited Pavel Moiseev to visit the country on a return visit.
During the meeting, the Qi Ming Culture Company signed a contract to donate works of Chinese calligraphy and painting by Professor Qiming to Derzhavin University. This is a gift on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the PRC and the establishment of Russian-Chinese diplomatic relations.
According to Rector Pavel Moiseev, the original works of the outstanding master of Chinese fine art will be exhibited on a permanent basis in the university’s art gallery, which is scheduled to open in 2025.
At the end of the official visit, the parties exchanged souvenirs. Professor Qiming expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and presented the Russian university with one of his works, as well as an exclusive set of silverware for the Chinese tea ceremony.

During the visit, Professor Qiming held a creative meeting and master classes on Chinese fine art at the Tambov Regional Art Gallery. The Derzhavin University students and teachers received a unique opportunity to master the techniques of modern calligraphy and Chinese painting under experienced mentorship.
