The scientific and practical conference “Far Eastern Model UN 2024” was held in Vladivostok. Among the delegates is Derzhavin University student Boipelo Mogorosi from Botswana.
“Model UN was a great experience,” says Boipelo Mogorosi. – “This conference taught me public speaking, critical thinking, negotiation tactics, teamwork, understanding cultures and intercultural communications, and developed my research abilities. I was able to visit the Far East, on the shores of the Pacific Ocean, where many Russian students dream of being. I'm glad I was able to do this. ”
This year, delegates discussed a range of global issues: threats to international peace and security, obstacles to achieving sustainable development goals related to population and food, the role of innovation in building the future, combating climate change in the Asia-Pacific region and much more.
“For any aspiring international worker, participation in the Model United Nations is a challenge to one’s own knowledge and skills,” says Elena Zueva, director of Department of International Relations and Migration Registration. “It’s great that our foreign students successfully overcome this challenge. Derzhavin University provides truly competitive knowledge and fully supports the aspirations of our international student community to develop in various fields. ”
