Laetitia Bushek, a TSU student, an activist in the University media club World Without Borders and the head of the Women's Leadership Association, participated in the 19th session of the Moscow State University Model of the UN. The international student conference was held at the Faculty of World Politics at Lomonosov Moscow State University.
During committee sessions, participants of various nationalities presented the position of their country. Laetitia Bushek became the face of Ethiopia and joined the Third Committee of the General Assembly, where key human rights, humanitarian, and social issues were discussed.
– The large-scale student simulation of the United Nations included several days of intensive work. On the first day, participants presented their agenda items on the impact of media disinformation on the dissemination of culture internationally. On the second day, they discussed a resolution in accordance with their delegation's position. On the third day, I formed a coalition for effective teamwork, including representatives from Ethiopia, South Africa, Russia, Mexico, Serbia, Argentina, and Canada. Together, we sought joint solutions to reach consensus. On the fourth day, delegates amended the drafted resolutions, - says Laetitia Bushek.
The resolution proposed by the Derzhavin University student to form a media department within each local association to monitor information in cooperation with UN bodies was adopted in the final resolutions of the General Assembly.
Laetitia Bushek also visited the headquarters of the World Peoples' Assembly to interview Russia's best international students. Her experience in the Model of the UN, negotiation skills, and deep understanding of intercultural communication helped her successfully complete this task.
