Two projects from Derzhavin University students won the sixth round of the Student Startup competition held by the Foundation for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises. Among the winners are Anastasia Zhalnina with her project "Creating an Online Platform for the Prevention of Eating Disorders for Adolescents" and Ruslan Bostanjyan with his project "Start to Market: Development and Commercialization of an Innovative MVP Product." They will each receive 1 million rubles to develop their ideas.
- These students aren't just doing science; they're creating developments with high potential for commercial application. So, I'm sure the million rubles they received for winning is just the first million. There will definitely be more! As rector, I will do everything possible to ensure that our University has as many winners of innovation competitions as possible. And I encourage all students to go for it, - notes Pavel Moiseev, rector of Derzhavin University.
This year, the Student Startup competition received over 11,600 applications. 2,500 of them were winners. They were citizens of Russia and 11 other countries, including Egypt, India, and Syria.
- In recent years, the number of teenagers facing eating issues has been steadily increasing. Therefore, we've developed a special project aimed at providing young people with the necessary knowledge and support to help them develop healthy habits and achieve inner harmony, - Anastasia Zhalnina, a third-year student majoring in Clinical Psychology, says about her project. – We’re planning to use the winnings to create an online platform, which is a unique resource that will bring together videos from doctors and specialists, helpful guides, educational literature, checklists, and online courses. The online platform will become a reliable source of information and support for teenagers on their journey to adulthood. I am grateful to my supervisor Tatyana Yuryeva, a clinical psychologist, PhD, and Associate Professor at Derzhavin University, for her support and valuable insights.
This month, the Foundation for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises (FASIE) will begin the process of concluding grant agreements with the competition winners.
The competition is being held by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and the FASIE as part of the "University Technological Entrepreneurship Platform" under the federal project "Technologies."
