The team of Derzhavin University took part in the Second Inclusive Festival of Sports and Adaptive Physical Education #ZAOODNO. The sports competitions were held on the platform of the Russian University of Sport in Moscow.
Derzhavin University was represented by a team of students of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport under the guidance of the coach of the national team, senior lecturer Svetlana Syrova.
The participants competed in nine sports such as table tennis, basketball, chess, darts, badminton, boccia, swimming, arm wrestling and microfutsal.
According to the results of the competition, the Derzhavin University students took the prize-winning places. Svetlana Voronina, Sergey Lushnikov and Nikita Boytsov became the first in arm-wrestling. In the team competition, the university students were bronze medalists in soccer and micro futsal.
- We constantly improve adaptive physical training of our students and strive for high sports achievements. The Derzhavin University team includes guys with hearing and locomotor disabilities, they show excellent results in table tennis, arm wrestling, swimming relay race on sapas and other disciplines. At the festival, in addition to competitions, team coaches were able to exchange experience on inclusive practices, - commented Svetlana Syrova, head of the Derzhavin University team.
The sports festival included team-building trainings, creative master classes, and meetings with interesting people. The festival ended with a gala concert and disco with the participation of pop singers, Eurovision and Voice stars Timur Vedernikov, Yulia Samoilova, Tais Urumidis and Alexander Volkodav.
