"Ski Track of Russia - 2025" was held at the ski stadium of Friendship Park. This year, the competition was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.
About 2,000 participants gathered at the stadium – these were teams from all municipalities of the region, parents with children, very young athletes and representatives of the silver generation of skiers.
The Derzhavin University team was one of the largest, more than 80 athletes took to the start line under the university flag.
In total, the program included thirteen starts among different age groups.
In the 19-29 age category, the entire men's podium at the 5 km distance was taken by students from our university: Nikita Smirnov took first place, German Kriventsev came in second, and Maxim Shmakov rounded out the top three.
In addition, two more representatives of Derzhavin University won medals at a distance of 3 km. In the age group of 60-64 years old, Galina Miloserdova was unmatched , at the same distance in the group of 40-49 years old, Dina Konovalova stopped one step away from victory.
This year, the Russian Ski Track coincided with the celebration of Maslenitsa. After the finish, all participants were treated to pancakes and tea, and took part in winter fun, such as felt boot throwing and sledding.
As a souvenir of the race, participants received white and blue branded caps.
The winners and prize winners were awarded cups and medals.
