Eighteen Derzhavin University students have been awarded Derzhavin Grants to support small student research teams led by academic advisors for the 2024-2025 academic year. The grant initiative was launched by Rector Pavel Moiseev as an effective measure to promote youth science, encouraging students to join existing research groups or form new ones.
Each research team was required to complete a project resulting in a scientific article (either an Article or Review) published in a journal indexed in international databases such as Scopus or Web of Science.
Out of 22 competing teams, nine emerged as winners:
- Farida Aydemirova & Ulyana Baysheva – "Study of the Protective Efficiency of an Expired Pharmaceutical Product against Corrosion of Carbon and Low-Alloy Steels in Hydrogen Sulfide Environments" (Advisor: Assoc. Prof. Viktoria Kuryato).
- Nikolay Polyushko & Kirill Dunayev – "Relationship between the Strength Properties of Silicon-Containing Zirconia-Based Composite Ceramics and the Fracture Toughness and Transformability of the Tetragonal t-ZrO₂ Phase" (Advisor: Dr. Sc. (Physics & Math.) Alexander Dmitrievsky).
- Ibrokhimjon Kuziev & Kirill Tovmach – "Investigating the Effects of Non-Contact and Contact Ultrasound Exposure on Hydrophobic and Hydrophilic Intraocular Lenses" (Advisor: Ph.D. (Biology) Svetlana Shutova).
- Nikita Belyaev & Grigory Shulgin – "Research on Web Data Parsing Technologies and Development of a Prototype Information System for Aggregating Scientific Event Data" (Advisor: Ph.D. (Pedagogy) Alexey Samokhvalov).
- Danila Sorokin & Stanislav Bulochkin – "Artificial Intelligence Tools in Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) for Law Students" (Advisor: Dr. Sc. (Pedagogy) Pavel Sysoev).
- Darya Senina & Sofiya Belokon – "Assessment of Professional Health Levels in High-Maneuverability Aviation Pilots" (Advisor: Dr. Sc. (Biology) Elena Nevzorova).
- Irina Kuznetsova & Marina Pustovalova – "Enhancing Pragmatic Competence in High School Students Through English Electronic Corpora" (Advisor: Ph.D. (Pedagogy) Iraidа Bryksina).
- Maria Zolotukhina & Yulia Kotova – "The Impact of Biofeedback Training on Psychophysiological Indicators in Cyber-Dependent and Cyber-Independent Students" (Advisor: Ph.D. (Biology) Alla Zolotukhina).
- Oleg Spivakov & Alexandra Kurdyumova – "Health and Physical Well-Being of Vocational College Students Amid Rising Orthopedic Disorders in Children and Adolescents" (Advisor: Ph.D. (Pedagogy) Yana Platonova).
Stanislav Bulochkin, Deputy Chair of Derzhavin University’s Student Scientific Society and a 3rd-year Law (Prosecutorial Activities) student, shared:
- It’s a great honor to participate in such a fascinating competition. Over the course of my research, I’ve published more than 10 peer-reviewed articles on legal regulation in IT and AI applications in education and professional fields. This interdisciplinary project, combining law, pedagogy, and digital technologies, makes the research even more meaningful. I frequently participate in academic conferences and competitions, proudly representing our university. I also actively contribute to developing and implementing projects that promote student research, engaging first-year students. I sincerely thank Derzhavin University for enabling such initiatives and advancing science at the intersection of cutting-edge fields.
The Derzhavin Grant program underscores the university’s commitment to fostering young researchers and strengthening interdisciplinary collaboration in science.
