Derzhavin University students Alena Kiseleva and Darya Karaseva took part in the creative workshop "Belarus: A Crossroads of National Cultures." The cultural event took place at Yanka Kupala University of Grodno and brought together over 500 participants from Belarus, Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan.
The goal of the event was to develop intercultural interaction among students, foster tolerant individuals in a multicultural environment, and increase international interest in the Republic of Belarus, its history, and culture.
"Wearing national costumes, we recited poems by various Russian poets, from Fet to Simonov. They vividly express our love for Russia and evoke feelings of admiration and pride," says Darya Karaseva, a Derzhavin University student. "The experience of participating in this event was unforgettable!" At the end of the festival, we attended a concert dedicated to the diversity of cultures and nationalities at Grodno State University of Humanities. There were numerous teams and participants showcasing the traditions and cultures of their countries.
The Derzhavin team won the "My Homeland, How Dear You Are..." competition.
In addition to participating in the festival, the girls got to know the city of Grodno. Alyona and Daria visited the Grodno Drama Theater, strolled along Sovetskaya Street, brightly decorated for the New Year, and saw the Cathedral of St. Francis Xavier and other local landmarks.
