Six students from Derzhavin University have received a semester-long language internship at the prestigious Nantong Institute of Technology, located in Jiangsu Province. The internship will run from October 9, 2025, to January 20, 2026, and will be an important step in training qualified specialists fluent in the Chinese language and culture.
Anastasia Avdeeva, Ksenia Vendina, Maria Klepikova, and Elena Sukhorukova—students majoring in Foreign Philology—Anastasia Alekseeva, a Master’s student in Design, and Kirill Vyatkin, a student in International Relations—will study Chinese language and culture along with twenty students from Voronezh State University and Lipetsk State Pedagogical University. "This unique opportunity will allow us not only to significantly improve our linguistic skills but also to gain invaluable experience living in the heart of China," notes Anastasia Alekseeva, head of the Derzhavin University group.
As part of the curriculum, Derzhavin’s students will not only master the language but also gain insight into the centuries-old traditions of Chinese art. Students will delve into the depths of Tai Chi, explore Hai'an physical culture, master the fine art of embroidery, grasp the mysteries of Chinese calligraphy, and learn about the graceful Huagu flower ball dance.
In addition to academic subjects, students will participate in extracurricular activities: sports competitions, art exhibitions, concerts, and cultural exchange festivals, including martial arts. This will provide an opportunity to expand their knowledge, broaden their horizons, and gain a fresh perspective on the world. The internship will take place in accordance with the Cooperation Agreement concluded in May 2025 between Tambov State University named after G.R. Derzhavin and Nantong Institute of Technology (National Republic of China).
