Derzhavin University Students successfully represented the university at the international olympiad and national conference in Uzbekistan.
ZARMED University (Republic of Uzbekistan), Derzhavin's partner university in medical fields, hosted a national scientific and practical conference with international participation and the 2nd International Olympiad for Medical Students, "ZARMED-2026."
Medical students from our university participated in the in-person olympiad.
Fifth-year Pediatrics student Mikhail Afonin took second place in the "Pathological Physiology" category. Third-year General Medicine student Makhliyo Jalilova placed third in the "Physiology" category.
Anna Stepanyan, a fourth-year student majoring in Pediatrics, won the scientific project competition with her paper "Physiology and Pathophysiology in the Service of Practical Medicine."
The Derzhavin team was accompanied by Irina Kozachuk, PhD, Associate Professor at Derzhavin University. At the international conference, she presented a paper entitled "The Effectiveness of A.N. Strelnikova's Prolonged Breathing Exercises on Tissue Microcirculation."
The participation of Derzhavin students and faculty in scientific events at ZARMED University was in accordance with the cooperation agreement signed between the universities in 2024.
