Students of the Institute of Medicine and Health Preservation of Derzhavin University Maria Barybina and Sofya Tupikina completed an internship at Samarkand State Medical University. The educational platform brought together more than fifty students from twenty medical universities in Russia, as well as students from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
The International Summer School is aimed at increasing knowledge and improving practical skills of students, supporting their professional and scientific aspirations, strengthening interethnic and cultural ties.
As part of the International Summer School, the participants got acquainted with the scientific and educational laboratories of Samarkand State Medical University, the organization of the training system. Lectures on practical healthcare, master classes, intellectual games, sports events, excursions to the iconic places of ancient Samarkand were held for students.
- The International Summer School became a step towards professional development. The program was informative, full of meetings, acquaintances, and events. I remember the lecture conducted by the rector of the University, professor Zhasur Rizayev, workshops from leading experts in the field of healthcare. We learned a lot about anaphylaxis and anaphylactic shock, ECG rhythm during cardiac arrest, and also participated in a master class on providing first aid in a simulation center, - says Maria Barybina, a student of Derzhavin University. - An unforgettable impression was made by visiting the sights of Samarkand: the architectural ensemble of the historical Registan Square, the Gur-Emir mausoleum, the medieval cultural monument Shahi-Zinda, the Hazrat Khizr Mosque, etc. Authentic cuisine, centuries-old traditions and the aesthetics of oriental hospitality will remain in my memory forever.
The five-day training ended with a ceremonial closing, presentation of diplomas, certificates and memorable gifts to the participants. The organizers noted that the International Summer School became a platform for demonstrating the unique knowledge, experience and talents of young students and residents. They wished the young doctors to fruitfully master new competencies and constantly improve their professional level.
