On the eve of Volunteer Day, the University held an awards ceremony for the winners and prize winners of the Derzhavin Volunteer 2024 Award.
– Derzhavin University has a large-scale volunteer movement that unites more than 3,500 students, – comments the University rector Pavel Moiseev. – This is important not only for educating the younger generation and implementing the social mission of the university, but also for students’ self-expression. An example is the medical students who are currently volunteering to help in military hospitals in the Kursk region and the Lugansk People’s Republic. Throughout the year, Derzhavin volunteers also took part in socially significant projects, accompanied major university events, helped the elderly and disabled, worked with children, organized holidays and collected humanitarian aid. The University is proud of its volunteer activities and plans to further develop them. The “Sports Without Borders” detachment of the Institute of Medicine and Health Preservation won in the “Best Volunteer Squad” nomination.
Daria Shevchenko, a student at the Institute of Law and National Security was awarded with the winner's diploma in the nomination "Volunteer of the Year" and the "Volunteer of the Year" badge for her contribution to the development of volunteering at the university.
– I love volunteering because I like helping people. Today, we all need support and unity, – says Daria Shevchenko, a 3rd-year student majoring in law, head of the Rassvet volunteer squad, and winner in the Volunteer of the Year nomination. Danila Bolotkin, a student at the Institute of Creative Industries, Economics, and Entrepreneurship was awarded with the winner’s diploma in the We Are Together nomination. Kirill Zyamzin, a student at the Institute of Medicine and Health Preservation was awarded In the Born to Help nomination. Edgar Martirosyan, a student at the Institute of Law and National Security was the best in the Confident in the Future nomination. Daniil Zobnin, a student at the Institute of Education and Social Sciences was awarded with the diploma in the Media Volunteer nomination. Yana Zimaeva and Evgeniya Zimaeva, students of the Institute of Medicine and Health Preservation were awarded for their achievements in the nomination "Protecting with the Heart". In the nomination "Event Volunteer", the best were Irina Kanaeva, a student of the Institute of Education and Social Sciences, and Daniil Shlyk, a student of the Institute of New Technologies and Artificial Intelligence. The winner's diploma in the nomination "Help for Children" was awarded to Victoria Uryasyeva, a student of the Institute of Medicine and Health Preservation. In the nomination "Debut of the Year", the winners were Ilya Lunkov, a student of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports, and Andrey Verkhoturov, a student of the Institute of Law and National Security.
For their active civic position and contribution to achieving the common mission - revealing the potential of society on a single idea of good as a norm of life for happiness and well-being - Derzhavin University students were awarded with Letters of Gratitude from the Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Youth Policy, Chairman of the Dobro.RF Association Artem Metelev. The volunteer movement in Derzhavin University dates back to 2002. Derzhavin University volunteers are united in teams in different areas: "Medical Volunteers", "Culture Volunteers", "Victory Volunteers", "Social Volunteers", "Event Volunteers", "Media Volunteers", "Russian Language Volunteers", etc. The teams are coordinated by the Boomerang Student Volunteer Initiatives Resource Center.
