"The joint celebration of two national holidays was a truly unforgettable event, allowing everyone to experience the harmony and unity of our peoples and great cultures," noted Pavel Moiseev, Rector of Derzhavin University. "After all, one of the greatest treasures of our planet is the diversity of traditions that unite us all as one family."
Guests participated in Russian folk games and round dances, played tug-of-war, sampled pancakes and jiaozi dumplings, and learned about the Chinese tea ceremony. Russians sang in Chinese, and Chinese students sang the Russian song "Oh, Frost, Frost!" The program included master classes in Mezen painting and Chinese calligraphy, Russian-Chinese dances, karaoke, photo sessions with horses, a Shaolin kung fu demonstration, and healing breathing exercises.
The organizers placed special emphasis on the color red as a symbol of spring and happiness in both cultures. Participants also enjoyed interactive contests, prize drawings, a presentation of "Firebird" spring chocolate, and fortune-telling quotes.
