Lectures and staff of the University joined the All-Russian educational campaign “Share your knowledge.” Organizer – Russian Society “Knowledge”. The project brings together talented and influential lecturers and provides an opportunity to transfer their knowledge from the field of science, ecology, media, technology, art, volunteering, sports and other areas at various cultural and educational Russian platforms.
“The priority areas of projects of the Russian Society “Knowledge” are the sphere of media
communications and media literacy,” says Andrey Prokhorov, director of the Derzhavin Center for Public Relations. – That is why this year we discussed current problems of the media industry and media education, and involved graduates of Derzhavin University, who have already established themselves as medical specialists, in this discussion.
Derzhavin lectures and staff gave lectures and conducted master classes in Tambov on the problems of the labor market and employment of media specialists. Students developed skills in recognizing fakes and managing online reputation in interactive formats.
– I was happy to share my knowledge about the method of verifying the accuracy of information – fact- checking. These media literacy courses build the critical thinking skills needed to spot fake news and misinformation attempts. Together with students, we studied network projects that ridicule their own credibility and teach the audience to critically comprehend information,” comments Ekaterina Zvereva, professor of the Department of Journalism, Advertising and Public Relations of Derzhavin University. – We also mastered algorithms for checking information when creating visual and verbal media texts and dealt with the “signals” of fake news. The all-Russian educational campaign “Share your Knowledge” started in 2021. Its partners are the Russian Ministry of Education, the Russian Ministry of Education and Science, the Russian Ministry of Culture, the Russian Ministry of Sports, the Russian Ministry of Health, the Russian Ministry of Finance, Rosprirodnadzor, and the Russian Academy of Sciences.
