The 2026 National University Ranking by Interfax Group has been published. Derzhavin University has climbed 20 spots compared to its 2025 ranking, taking 103rd place.
"It's not just that we've improved our position in the overall ranking, although that's certainly the main factor," comments Rector Pavel Moiseev. "It's important to understand the underlying meaning of these changes. We've improved in the areas we considered strategic during the reporting year and invested in. For example, our most noticeable advancement is in the Brand sub-rankings (our reputation and external appeal) and Research sub-rankings (our scientists and the state of our science). We maintained our high position in the Internationalization/Cooperation sub-ranking (an integral indicator of our external relations). We will consistently continue our domestic policy of positive change." The National University Ranking 2026 assessed the performance of 395 Russian universities. The ranking includes all of the country's prestigious universities: 29 national research universities, 10 federal universities, 33 flagship universities, and 133 universities participating in the Priority 2030 program.
