At Derzhavin University, a graduation ceremony was held for foreign students who studied “General Medicine” and “Dentistry”. 420 students who came from Morocco, Egypt, India, Tunisia, Algeria, South Africa, Iraq, Uzbekistan, Ghana, Zambia, Namibia and other countries received diplomas. Half of the students completed a special professional retraining program in health care management. Representatives of the city administration, the government of the Tambov region and medical institutions of the region, graduates and parents of foreign students congratulated the graduates on their graduation from the university.
“From today you are officially doctors. This is a very honorable and responsible profession, because now not only the health, but also the lives of people will depend on you and your actions,” says rector of Derzhavin University Pavel Moiseev, “I hope that over the years of study, Derzhavin University gave you not only knowledge and life experience, but also become a second home for you. Derzhavin University will always be your friend and reliable partner in Russia.”
The rector presented the graduates with diplomas and letters of gratitude from the university.
“I came to Tambov from Morocco. Over the course of six years, I made many friends from Africa, China, Egypt and, of course, from Russia. Many acquaintances grew into real friendship,” says graduate Amar Ashraf, “I am grateful to the university for my education. Very soon I will undergo state accreditation and start working as a therapist in one of the clinics in Tambov.”
On July 8, the day of graduation, the Association of Foreign Graduates was also created in Derzhavin University. This is a community that will unite specialists around the world who have graduated from DerzhavinTambov State University. Derzhavin University is the only institution in the region that trains specialists for the healthcare sector with higher medical education. In 2016, 74 specialists from other countries graduated from the university for the first time. In 2024 the number of graduates increased fivefold. In total, over the past 10 years, more than 2,500 foreign citizens from 85 countries graduated from Derzhavin University.
