The Engineering Center for Industrial Microbiology, equipped with a pilot line of fermenters for the production of microbial synthesis products, begins work at Derzhavin University. The new facility of the university research and production infrastructure is one of the few centers in the country for the pilot production of biological products and the development of technological regulations to solve the problems of meeting the needs of enterprises in the industrial microbiology industry. The engineering center is the result of the University policy to create a competitive infrastructure in the implementation of the strategic project “Priority 2030”, complementing the modern complex of research laboratories. However, in addition to the presence of an innovative laboratory and industrial base, the key to success in the development of technological solutions for the microbiological industry is highly qualified personnel. To ensure the high-quality work of the new center, leading technologists from large biotech companies were involved in its activities, and an internship was organized for the center’s employees in one of the most successful companies in the industrial microbiology market in the Russian Federation (Bisolbi-Inter LLC, St. Petersburg).
The internship program for Derzhavin University employees is aimed at mastering technologies for cultivating microorganisms on an industrial scale, rules for working with fermentation equipment, and creating collections of microorganisms. The main goal of the internship is to master the process of obtaining, testing and registering new biological products for the agricultural sector, which will ensure the inclusion of the new and Engineering Center of Derzhavin University in the scientific and production chain for the development and commercialization of new biological products.
