Victoria Aleksandrova, a second-year student of the Faculty of Philology and Linguistics, together with other students of TSU named after G.R. Derzhavin, completed an internship in the Chinese Language course at Anshan Normal University (PRC). Victoria studied Chinese and at the same time took an active part in various competitions offered to students. One of these was the international creative competition "My Province - My Pride", where Victoria took third place in the "Painting" nomination.
The competition was held by Dalian University of Foreign Studies - one of the eight leading linguistic universities in China and the only fully specialized university of its profile in the northeast of the country. Victoria participated on behalf of the city of Anshan.
– In the Painting category, 163 participants from different provinces of China and international students competed, – explains Victoria. – My work is an acrylic painting measuring 40×50 cm depicting the famous Anshan 219 Park. I depicted the calling card of Liaoning through the prism of Russian perception. The work combines the image of traditional Chinese architecture and modernized contemporaneousness in the form of skyscrapers in the background. My work emphasizes the unity of generations moving towards a common bright future. The competition showed that art is a universal language, understandable even without translation.
The organizers noted Victoria's deep understanding of Chinese culture, innovative artistic synthesis and professional mastery of technology. The student plans to organize a personal exhibition in the Tambov Regional Art Gallery. Preparations are underway for a series of her works, “The Russian View of China.” The girls became participants in the second wave of academic exchange with a partner institution of Derzhavin University. The internship became possible thanks to the current agreement on cooperation and academic exchange of students, concluded earlier between the two universities.
