A series of open educational intensive courses on stage movement and fencing has started at Derzhavin University. The classes are taught by Robert Elkibaev, a lecture at the Department of Stage Performance at GITIS, under the “Priority 2030” program. He is the winner and laureate of international dance festivals and competitions. Robert Elkibaev teaches stage performance in Russia and abroad.
“Stage fencing is taught in the third year, after mastering stage movement. We pay a lot of attention to training on emancipation, coordination, and stretching. This is important for an artist to feel a partner, to feel the form. We prohibit playing with the face, because due to this the artist closes the emotions of the body. Students must use gestures and movements to find a justification for this or that action. It's like a dialogue from the outside.,” notes Robert Elkibaev. —
Derzhavin University and GITIS signed an agreement on network interaction in 2016. GITIS lectures regularly conduct master classes on acting, stage speech and stage movement for Derzhavin residents. Last year, the rector of Derzhavin University Pavel Moiseev and the rector of GITIS Grigory Zaslavsky signed an agreement on the network implementation of an educational program in the field of “Acting”. Universities are also jointly organizing the Youth Forum “Galdym – Territory of Art” on the basis of Derzhavin University.
