From November 26 to 28, the traditional SHL tournament was held on the federal territory of Sirius with the participation of the 8 strongest student teams of the League. As a result of intense matches, Dmitry Zobkov's team recorded another title to their account - vice-champions of the Vladimir Yurzinov Cup.
These days in Sochi, the following teams competed for the medals of the tournament: “UralGUFK” (Chelyabinsk), “Polytechnik” (Chelyabinsk), “Sparta” (Ulyanovsk), “SKA-EIFK” (Yekaterinburg), “West of Russia” (Kaliningrad), “OrelSU” (Orel), “Steel Hearts” (Magnitogorsk) and “Derzhava”.
In the quarterfinals, Dzhyravin University team won the match against UralGUFK with a score of 5:3, a day later they repeated their success in the semifinals in the game against Polytechnik, thus securing a place in the Cup final.
In the decisive showdown with the team "West of Russia", Derzhava lost with a score of 1:4 and took second place. It is noteworthy that the first period was won by Dmitry Zobkov's team, the only goal in the starting game segment was scored by Nikita Korabelnikov, who was recognized as the best forward of the Vladimir Yurzinov Cup following the tournament.

I am pleased with the guys' work. The Derzhava showed their mettle and won matches against two of the strongest teams in the East.
In the 2023/2024 season, the Derzhava players took 6th place in a similar tournament, and this year they are returning home with medals. The Derzhava has new matches ahead, this time they will take place at the home arena. On November 30 and December 1, Derzhava will host the regular championship of the SHL between our team and “NNGU”, representing Nizhny Novgorod at the tournament.
