Foreign students from Derzhavin University took part in the Rector's Cricket Cup of the National Research Mordovian State University named after N.P. Ogarev. This year, teams representing Russian universities - Penza State University, Ulyanovsk State University, Northern State Medical University, as well as athletes from the host university - competed for victory in the tournament.
The participation of Derzhavin University students in the cricket competition became part of the socio-cultural exchange, aimed at strengthening ties in the field of student sports between partner universities, and developing volunteerism in the field of physical education.
Over the two days of play, the Derzhavin University team demonstrated a high level of sportsmanship, strategic thinking, team spirit and unity. Following the tournament, our students became bronze medalists, losing only to their opponents from Penza State University, who took 2nd place, and to the winners of the Cup — the team of Northern State Medical University from Arkhangelsk.
The exciting performance of the University student Srinivasan Raju, who became the leader in points among all the players of the tournament with a score of 76 points, significantly contributed to the achievement of a high sports result of the Derzhavin University team.
