The International Round Table "Russian Language in the International Space: Significance and Development Prospects" was held at Derzhavin University. It concluded the work of the School of Russian Language and Russian Folk Culture. The event was attended by experts from leading Russian universities, teachers of Russian as a foreign language from eight countries: Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, France, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Spain, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
Pavel Shevtsov, Deputy Head of the Federal Agency for the CIS, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo), took part in the round table discussions.
– The Russian language is important for understanding Russian culture, and in the post-Soviet states it also acts as a language of interethnic communication. Therefore, it is necessary to discuss the trajectories of the development of the Russian language with those who teach it. Tambov State University has relevant developments and an initiative team. Rossotrudnichestvo acted as the information partner of the School. I am sure that next year even more students will come to Tambov, - says Deputy Head of Rossotrudnichestvo Pavel Shevtsov.
The participants of the round table listened to reports on the future of the Russian language in the globalized world, on international projects of philologists-Russianists of Derzhavin University, problems and prospects of integrating the Russian language into the system of Chinese higher education, discussed issues of language diplomacy of the new era, etc.
The School of Russian Language and Russian Folk Culture is being implemented by TSU named after G.R. Derzhavin on the initiative of the rector of the University Pavel Moiseev as part of the mission of the "university of public diplomacy" in the field of international activities since 2024. The project has received a wide response among the professional community: this year about 300 applications from 20 countries of the world were submitted for participation.
- Derzhavin University has become a platform for the development of professional competencies, exchange of experience and best pedagogical practices. Teachers of Russian as a foreign language immersed themselves in our national culture, which is very valuable. Seminars and master classes were held taking into account modern trends in the study of the Russian language, - noted the rector of Derzhavin University Pavel Moiseyev.
In the educational block of the project, the advanced training course "Russian Language and Culture in the Context of Modern Pedagogical Technologies" was held. RFL teachers took part in the media project of Derzhavin University, in training seminars and business meetings, visited the largest ethnic festival in Russia "Atmanovskie Kulachki".
- The project "School of Russian Language and Russian Folk Culture" provided an opportunity to exchange experiences. There are positive results, plans and prospects for educational and cultural interaction have been outlined, - commented Dilaram Madaminova, PhD in Philology, Associate Professor of the Department of Teaching Russian Language and Literature of the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication of Osh State University (Kyrgyzstan). – I learned a lot of new things at the Atmanovskie Kulachki Festival. In the future, scientific developments will be included in my doctoral dissertation on the traditions and customs of the Kyrgyz and Russian peoples. I am sure that the cooperation between Osh and Derzhavin universities in the field of joint scientific and educational projects will certainly continue.
