Derzhavin University hosted the international roundtable discussion titled "Our Common Victory: By Word and Deed." The event brought together historians, social scientists, leaders of public organizations, and representatives of regional law enforcement agencies. Foreign partners of the University also participated online.
Velibor Stević, President of the Serbian Royal Academy of Innovative Sciences, delivered a report titled "The struggle of the peoples of the USSR and Yugoslavia during World War II." Anatoly Dulov, Head of the Department of History and Cultural Heritage at P.M. Masherov Vitebsk State University (Republic of Belarus), spoke about the life and heroic deeds of Belarusian partisans during the Great Patriotic War. Colleagues from Abylai Khan Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages, in their presentation "A mortal battle not for glory, but for life on Earth…," emphasized the significance of the Great Victory for the development of the global community.
Historians from Derzhavin University presented reports on various stages of the Great Patriotic War. Representatives of the Tambov Territorial Garrison and the Rosgvardiya (National Guard) Directorate of the Tambov Region shared examples of heroism among personnel carrying out combat missions in the Special Military Operation zone. Elena Valatina, head of the Regional Branch of the "Search Movement of Russia," spoke about the work of Tambov volunteers in the Leningrad Region, where search operations are currently underway. Students from regional universities, members of the Search movement, the CyberDruzhina center, and Derzhavin Lyceum also actively participated in the discussion.
The event placed special emphasis on patriotic education for youth and the implementation of patriotic initiatives among young people. In addition to discussing the history of the Great Patriotic War, the exchange of ideas touched upon the risks of rising neo-fascism and ways to counter this threat.
