International students from the Tambov State University named after G.R. Derzhavin represented the university with distinction at the prestigious International Indian Dance Competition, Indian Dance Fest. The event, organized by the International Indian Dance Federation (MID), with the support of its partners, brought together talented dancers in the capital who strive to understand and promote Indian culture.
The main goals of the festival, which has been held for twenty years, are to foster respect for India's cultural heritage, enhance the performance skills of the participants, and discover new talent. Competitors competed in various styles, including classical dance, folk and stylized dance, and contemporary Bollywood.
Derzhavin University, under the direction of Alexandra Zamurueva, was represented by More Tanmay Narayan, Gewande Atharv Ajay, Ghogale Manasi Narayan, Paithankar Shambhavi Kishore, and Gorakshakar Smruti Sudesh.
The jury highly praised the performance of the Derzhavin University dancers. Following the competition, the students won first place in the "Stylization of Classical Indian Dance" and "Contemporary Bollywood" categories.

Their brilliant preparation of their routines and deep immersion in Indian aesthetics allowed them to outperform their competitors and confirm their high level of performance," notes Alexandra Zamurueva, the university's director.
